The People Behind the Product

When you purchase something, you not only buy a product, but you also buy into the company and the people that stand behind it. As promised in our last blog post, we wanted to give our readers a little insight into not only who we are, but also what it’s like to be a part of the Staheli West work family.  We wanted to share with you what we stand for, what we value, and what kind of culture we strive for.

Although our bread and butter is producing, selling, and supporting the DewPoint hay steamers and our customers, we also strive to foster an uplifting work environment. We value things such as fun, hard work, inspiration, continuous improvement, and most importantly family.

Working Hard and Having Fun Doing It

One of our Core Values here at Staheli West is fun.  Marc Anthony once said, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” We take that to heart.  We work really hard here at Staheli West to build quality machinery and ultimately support those products, but we also recognize the need to make work a fun and enjoyable place to be.  After all, we do spend a large part of our lives at work.

Here are some of the fun things we like to do here at Staheli West:

• Birthday Parties: Every employee’s birthday is celebrated together as an entire company during work hours.
• Competitions: Each year we split the company into teams and hold competitions.  It’s mostly fun, but sometimes the competitions get pretty heated. Some of our past competitions included mousetrap cars, boxcar racing, etc.
• Team Building Activities: Several times each month we perform fun team building activities and competitions. Once again, it’s a fun way to interact with coworkers and get to know each other.
• Breakfasts: Throughout the year we like to hold breakfast socials where we just enjoy good food and get to know each other.

These are just a few examples of some of the things we do to make work fun.

It’s All About Family

One of the things that people love the most about working here is our emphasis on family.  Not only does each employee feel like they are a part of the Staheli West family, they feel like their families and personal lives are valued too.  We offer employees flexible work schedules so that they can attend to the important things that are happening in their lives such as ball games, dance recitals, etc.

Because we are still a relatively small company, we know each other’s families and enjoy our associations with each other. As I put it in the video, “We are a pretty tight-knit group.” That’s another thing that makes working at Staheli West unique.

Founded on Inspiration

Another thing that makes us who we are is our belief in receiving guidance and inspiration from above. Staheli West was founded on inspiration and it continues to run deep in our culture. Our company started with a prayer, and it is a regular practice in our company to open all our meetings with a prayer.  We believe that there is a loving God that knows more than we do, and we seek his guidance on all levels of our company. We may not have all the answers, but we know that one person does and we acknowledge that in all we do.
